"A" is for Apple, and "B" is for Baking - 10/06

Immediately following church on October 1st Sunday school students, teachers, parents and our visiting priest the Very Reverend Arch Priest Moushegh Der Kaloustian met at Keown Orchards in Sutton for our annual apple picking event. All enjoyed a scenic wagon ride to the orchards where we were able to pick from a variety of apple trees and leisurely stroll the grounds. After a couple fun-filled hours of apple picking we all headed over to Der Aram and Yeretsgeen's house for pizza and to put those freshly picked apples to good use!
As soon as we arrived a few adults started getting busy in the kitchen peeling apples, while others relaxed on the deck conversing with ”Father Mike” (an affectionate title used by the kids). Some of the children were playing basketball on the driveway and others were having a blast just rolling around on Der Hayr’s beautifully manicured lawn. Either way it was a perfect day for just being outdoors and experiencing God’s Beauty.
Apple crisp anyone? Who could say no to Yeretsgeen’s offer? A piece of warm apple crisp straight from the oven with ice cream on top and a hot cup of coffee. It was the perfect way to embrace the fall season.
Thank you to the following individuals for making this day so special: our Sunday school director, Alan Goshgarian for organizing such a fun event, Reverend Moushegh for his genuine love and active participation with our Sunday School children, And Yeretsgeen Margaret for so graciously opening her home so the fun could continue. Her hospitality was as warm and inviting as her yummy Apple Crisp!
