The Ladies Guild of Soorp Asdvadzadzin church was formed in March 1954, three years before the church was built. The purpose of the Ladies Guild has been to assist the Board of Trustees in providing for the needs of the community. The Guild does this through various goodwill projects, providing a social network for the women of the church and, of course, through their skilled and delicious cooking, baking, and meal preparation.

Sunday School

Andre' Markarian -
Aram Hazerjian -

The ultimate goal of the Soorp Asdvadzadzin Sunday School is to graduate our students as committed Christians who are able to express their faith with joy and satisfaction in the Armenian Apostolic Church. The spiritual growth and well being of our children is a priority for our Sunday School. We aim to provide a nurturing atmosphere where students can experience unconditional love, build friendships, and grow in their faith.

Sunday School assembly and classes start at 10am.

The mission of the Soorp Asdvadzadzin Church Choir is to sing the hymns and sharagans of the Badarak (Divine Liturgy) and by doing so bring praise and glory to God.

The late and much beloved Very Rev. Fr. Oshagan Minassian was the first instructor to teach the choir the spiritual hymns of our Holy Mass in 1958 at our church. His efforts to instill the importance of spiritual development and cultural knowledge continues to this day with Nancy Moscofian and Ann Samkiranian. For decades both women have faithfully served the choir as organists and singers and continue the legacy of Father Oshagan by mentoring new members with great patience and understanding of the Armenian sharagans.

Although the choir membership is small, it represents a range of voices and ages and continues to grow with our newest members being graduates of our Sunday School program. If you enjoy singing, or are interested in learning the magnificent liturgical music of the Armenian Church, please see our choir contact person Ann Samkiranian. Men, women and children are always welcome to join at any time of the year. Rehearsals are scheduled intermittently throughout the year prior to special occasions and church holidays. When our schedule permits the choir often enjoys Christian fellowship with one another after rehearsals.

We encourage all parishioners to sing along with the choir to the praises of our Lord during Sunday Badarak service in order to fully participate and feel the presence of God.

“Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing.” Psalm 100:1-2

The mission of the Adult Bible Study is to inspire hope and purpose in life through the study of God's Word. Our sessions also include the study of Church Doctrine and the Liturgy. We performed the Divine Liturgy in English as a learning experience to grasp its beautiful meaning and understand its various parts. Bible study is open to the public. We welcome you to join us in discovering the love of God and finding strength to confront our daily troubles and tribulations. Let His Word comfort you and guide you throughout your life's journey.

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness... the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus." I Timothy 2:15-16
